are a few waterfalls in the western part of Victoria. I have shot the pictures in October 2001. Click on pictures to see the falls in a bigger size. |
| Wannon
Falls is located west of Hamilton on the road to
Coleraine. The fall is located roadside, height is about 25 to 30 meters. Well signed from the highway, on the same highway is also the turnoff to Nigretta Falls also located roadside on a minor road, height is about 15 to 20 meters. Both falls have most waterflow in winter/spring in late summer and autumn they have very less water. |
| Loddon
Falls is located east of Ballarat on the road
between Daylesford and Malmsbury. There is no sign to the fall, but if you drive over Loddon river eastbound take the next left turn, and then the next dirt road on your left, if you see a lonely big tree along this road, hike down to the canyon, there you can see the small 4 to 5 meter high fall. Sailor Falls is located south of Daylesford roadside. Best view is from the overlook, the fall is about 20 meters high. Ferntree Falls is located in the Mt.Buangor State park on the Western Highway between Ararat and Beaufort. Take the Ferntree Gully road (gravel) to reach this small State Park. From the parking area starts the Waterfalls Nature Walk to Ferntree Falls. There is also Upper Falls and Cascade Falls on this trail, but this are not worth waterfalls. Hopkins Falls is located north of Warnambool, take the Hopkins Highway till you see the turnoff to the fall. Follow the signs to the roadside located very wide fall (about 50 to 60 meters), height is about 6 to 8 meters, fall is also known as Little Niagara Falls. In the middle is another pic of Wannon Falls. |
