Waterfalls Austria (Tirol)

The PITZTAL is located in the ÖTZTALER alps, the valley southwest of the ÖTZTAL.
There are many waterfalls in this beautiful valley, best known is the STUIBENFALL
(same name like TIROLS highest fall) and the waterfall of the PFITSCHER river. Most
of the falls in the valley are located roadside or can be seen from the main valley road.
All the pictures below there shot in June 2001.

The STUIBENFALL is located between JERZENS and ZAUNHOF. Look for restaurant
SCHÖN on the left side if you are driving southbound, there is a small parking area at
the front of the restaurant. To reach the fall go thru the garden of the restaurant and
follow the forest road up the hill till you reach the waterfall sign. The last 15 minutes
is a steep strenous not easy hike to the fall, the trail is very narrow. Total hiking time
up is about 30 minutes, down 15 minutes. The fall is several 100 meters high.

The BICHLBACHFALL is located in BICHL south of ST.LEONHARD. The fall can
be seen from the road. Follow the red marks across the meadow to the fall. It is
possible to continue on the trail, there is also an upper waterfall i haven't been yet.
The lower waterfall is about 15 to 20 meters high. Below are different views of the fall.

The PFITSCHER BACH WATERFALL is located in ST.LEONHARD. Parking is possible
in EGGENSTALL . The trail to the waterfall is well signed. If you cross the bridge over the
river PITZE in EGGENSTALL you have to choose go left or right. Take the right trail, the
view is better from here, the hike is easy, about 30 minutes from the parking area. The
powerfull waterfall is about 40 to 50 meters high.

The PFITSCHER BACH WATER-
FALL is one of the best waterfalls
in TIROL.

The LUSSBACHFALL is located in PLANGEROSS at the southern end of the PITZTAL
valley. The fall can also be seen from the road (there is no better view). The fall cascades
down more than 100 meters, see the picture below shot with a 200mm zoom lens.

The left picture shows the full waterfall, The LOABACHFALL (right picture) is located
close to the LUSSBACHFALL roadside near TRENKWALD. Height is about 60 meters.

The KLOCKELEBACHFALL is located in STILLEBACH between ST.LEONHARD and
PLANGEROSS . This is also a roadside fall, over 100 meters high. The other fall (right
picture) is just 200 meters away, but the stream has no name.
