Installing the MathTime Professional fonts for use with VTeX/Free
Installing of the MathTime Professional fonts provided by PCTeX Inc
in a
VTeX/Free
system is straightforward, since the layout of the
MathTime Pro distribution complies with the TDS specifications.
-
Having purchased MathTime Professional from
PCTeX Inc.,
you should have received a ZIP archive named mtpfonts.zip.tpm.
-
unzip this archive in the directory where your texmf directory tree
is located (i.e., not inside texmf).
On OS/2 this is normally the root directory of the partition where VTeX has
been installed.
On Linux this is normally the directory /usr/local/.
Doing so will add the fonts and the related support files to the texmf/ tree.
Unpacking of the archive will also create a new directory
named templates beside texmf; it contains a number of sample documents.
Feel free to move this directory to a more appropriate place in your file system.
-
If you have got the "Font Supplement A" and/or "B", too, install the related archives
analogously.
-
Download the VTeX-specific font mapping file mtpro.ali.
and save it to the directory texmf/fonts/map/vtex/ of your VTeX/Free system.
The latest version of this file
covers also the fonts of the "Supplement A" and "B" collections.
-
Edit your VTeX configuration files texmf/vtex/config/pdf.fm and
texmf/vtex/config/ps.fm .
In the TYPE1 section of each file you will have to add a record for the
additional map file mtpro.ali:
TYPE1 {
...
mtpro.ali
}
Having completed the above steps, you should be able to use the
MathTime Professional fonts with VTeX/Free. Documentation will be
available from the directory texmf/doc/fonts/mtpro/.
